Our Story (So Far)
2015: The Discovery (Middle School)
Hello, I’m Brody, the founder and owner of Bravicä. My story begins at the age of 12, the moment I found my calling. The catalyst was discovering Casey Neistat and the world of daily vlogging. His work introduced me to cameras and the art of filmmaking, instantly sparking an obsession. I immediately downloaded iMovie on my mother's iPad, spending every moment outside of class writing scripts and editing movies. The Christmas of that year, a camera was the only thing on my list. I did not have a care in the world if I didn’t receive anything else under the tree. From that point on, I was dedicated to honing my craft, relentlessly pursuing photography, video production, and eventually a third, vital skill (it’s coming up, don’t worry). Ever since, all the way to today, every single skill I have, I have taught myself.
2018–2021: Honing the Craft (High School)
During my high school years, my capabilities took a massive leap forward. At 17, I acquired my first drone, a DJI Spark. While not particularly a great drone in terms of camera quality, especially by todays standards, it taught me the core mechanics of flying a drone and the steps that need to be taken to pilot one. This addition made me feel unstoppable—I could now factor an aerial perspective into my content, truly elevating my work.
Unfortunately, the pressures of the pandemic and meeting academic deadlines for graduation caused my passion for photo and video to temporarily stall. I managed to graduate, but the focus had shifted entirely to finishing school.
2021–2024: The Corporate Test (Dealership #1)
Shortly after graduation, I began my career at Dealership #1 (for security reasons, the dealership name will be omitted). I was initially hired as a “Quality Delivery Concierge”, helping customers get familiar with their new vehicles. My big break came when I asked management if I could film a review of the newly arrived Ford F-150 Lightning (Which was brand new at the time) on my day off. They were so impressed with the result that they made video production my full-time position. At 18, this was a dream come true—a full-time job centered on my passion, successfully reviving my love for content creation. During my employment at Dealership #1, this is also when I began to teach myself a new skill set that I have been wanting to learn for a long time. Graphic Design.
However, that success was quickly overshadowed. Dealership #1 began demanding an impossible workload: 10 car reviews, scripted, filmed, narrated, edited, and uploaded. Every. Single. Day. This focus on quantity over quality obviously led me to total burnout. My ambition was crushed, and the joy of video work evaporated as it turned into a grueling chore. I thought to myself “I knew it was too good to be true. There truly is no such thing as a fun job I guess.” Though I persisted, this era ended when the dealership was bought out. The new management fired the General Manager who set the punishing quotas, and I was moved to a finance assistant position with a lower hourly rate and a chaotic, alternating schedule. Getting my wage actually reduced instead of increased, after working for 2 and a half years with them, was extremely offensive both to me and the value of my work.
2024–2025: The Reset (Dealership #2)
The unsustainable work environment at “dealership #1” led to a necessary change. After completely giving up all work ethic for the new company and management, I was laid off for my first and only time, leading me to immediately take a position at a “used car superstore” across the street (dealership #2). The intense burnout from the previous job led to a complete reset—during my time at dealership #2 as a detailer, I didn't touch my camera or drone at all. When I transferred to the South Sacramento location within the same company 10 months later, the difference in the work environment and overall energy between employees was night and day compared to the Fairfield location, and I knew I had to make a change in my career. Again.
May 2025–Present: Revival and The Launch of Bravicä (Downtown Ford & Bravicä)
At home, in the evening after my first day at the South Sacramento location, I applied to an available Social Media Manager position at Downtown Ford Sacramento. I knew this dealership was owned by Price Family Dealerships, the same organization that made “Dealership #1” a great place to work before the buyout. I was quickly called in by the GM, hired virtually on the spot, and started working less than a week later.
The work I currently do at Downtown Ford is worlds apart from my previous experience. With a requirement of just one video per day—with complete and total creative freedom—the intense pressure was lifted. This is finally a job I love and has fully reignited the joy for video production I hadn't felt since I was 15 years old.
This professional revival directly led to the founding of Bravicä. Out of my own pocket, I’ve purchased a new suite of high-end camera gear and a state-of-the-art drone. These are the upgraded tools I now use to bring the decade of experience, creativity, and unique visual storytelling honed over every step of this journey to life for my clients.
